Teachers – Each of GAMAS's four schools is constantly looking for more teachers to teach a variety of subjects. We need bible teachers, math teachers, science teachers, english teachers, health science teachers, agriculture teachers, home economics teachers, electrical and mechanical teachers, and bible worker trainers. If God has gifted you in the area of teaching we have many different opportunities right now where you can serve.
School Administrators – We need volunteers who have leadership experience who could assist with present schools, or help launch new school building projects. Presently we have a new bible worker training college in Kaikan Village that needs an administrator family. Bethany Medical Missionary College is presently looking for a medically trained administrator who can help that. Kimbia Mission Academy is also looking for leaders who can help guide the school forward, so that the present administrators can branch out and start another school. Kwebana Village is requesting an industrial school, but it needs a good leader who can make this happen.
Builders – We're constantly looking for those who are skilled in the area of construction to help build schools, churches, mission houses, and a do a variety of other construction-like projects. We presently have nine projects that are needing builders. If you would like to come to Guyana alone, or would like to plan a mission trip group for your church, please contact me as soon as possible at ashjam7@yahoo.com. We can use you immediately.
Georgetown Logistics Coordinator – We're presently looking for a volunteer couple to help with the multitude of tasks that we have to accomplish in Georgetown. Personally speaking, I do a little of everything. I write letters, send out reports, do shopping for any and everything, go into government offices to inquire about things, apply for visas for volunteers, call people on the phone, drive the van to Food for the Poor to pick up items for our schools. I go to the international airport to meet volunteers coming in, or take those leaving, and help new volunteers in transition. In a nutshell, we're looking for a person who has good driving skills, is self motivate, multitalented, flexible and works well with other people. This would be a tremendous help to the pilot and help to pull our other GAMAS projects together.
Lethem Station Manager – We're searching for a couple or a family who can live in Lethem and manage our Television Station. These persons need some basic electrical and technical aptitude. They would also be a logistics coordinator for the area and other projects in the south, and help the pilots as they fly in Region 9. They would also help the local church, and assist with local evangelism, bible studies, and literature distribution.
Bible Workers and Trainers – We have a deep need for an army of trained in bible work to come and work the metropolitan areas of Georgetown, Linden, New Amsterdam, Skeldon, Bartica, Lethem, and many other populated areas. We need good leaders who can organize missionary outings and door to door work, train local people to be involved. We also need some courageous persons who are willing to be flown out into the interior regions and do training with our bible workers, and church members in the interior.
Printers – The Spirit of Prophecy says that if there is one work that is more important than the others it is getting the printed page before the people. We need a few people who are gifted in digital design and layout to design easy to understand brochures and books for the coastal areas, and the Amerindians in the interior. We also plan to download programs off the internet and duplicate them on CD's and DVD's for mass distribution. This will require some computer skills.
Pilots – We need at least two more fixed wing pilots who have 500 hours of flying experience. They should have a private and commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating. Those who do not meet the 500 hours of experience are still welcome, but training may take a little longer, and preference may be given to those with more hours. Because of the huge time and monetary investment to train a new pilot to fly in Guyana, all incoming pilots should expect to spend the first six months working with one of our projects.
